Crimson approached Method Design to document their first Innovation Conference at the Microsoft Building in Victoria, London, photographically and on video.
Crimson is a fast-moving technology and recruitment company which specialises in the full range of IT support, consultancy and search and selection services.
After a few meetings with Crimson, the brief was set, they wanted a three minute conference video for promotional uses and a record of this unique conference. Also the success of the conference could be used to showcase next year’s event. Photography for the day was also required, with a reportage style photo package to be used for marketing and promote future conferences and events.
Paul and James travelled to London with a boot full of video and photography kit, embarking on what was to be a very busy day of shooting.
As much coverage of the event as possible was critical. The itinerary was ambitious and focused particularly on filming interviews with their customers and their special guest speaker, Will Whitehorn, former president of Virgin Galactic. The day entailed capturing attendees arriving, chatting and meeting Crimson employees. We took photos of attendees gathering in the communal area, presentations in the auditoriums and breaks to help record the essence of the day.
Over the lunch period, interviews were conducted in a room away from outside noise and staged using a table, chair and two video lights.
Following the lunch break, delegates attended the auditoriums to listen to various speakers, one of course being Will Whitehorn. At the end of the conference he remained to share his comments and experiences of the day with us, he also declared that "this was his first interview with a beard!". Very impressive beard we must say! He was relaxed and answered all our questions comprehensively.
The end of the day drew in and we joined the client for a well deserved drink in the pub! Below is a short edited video of aspects of the day.
